Highly Qualified Energy Professionals

Anyone can claim to be an Energy Auditor and take your money to perform an energy audit of your home. How do you discern between the inexperienced and untrained and the true energy professional? EnergyARM utilizes only Building Performance Institute (BPI) Certified Building Analysts to perform your energy audit. BPI has a national certification program that incorporates rigorous training, written examinations and field application proving competency and knowledge. BPI sets the standard in home performance contracting and retrofit work. BPI certified individuals, accredited contractors, quality assurance providers and affiliates are leaders in the home performance contracting industry and in training candidates for “green” jobs. BPI Certified Building Analysts have been trained and certified not only to recognize and report on the energy issues in your home, but they live the BPI motto of “first do no harm” by ensuring that your home is healthy and safe. They inspect for energy, moisture and indoor air quality issues and perform testing to help make sure your newly tightened and insulated home does not result in any potential health hazards.
One of the difficulties energy auditors and their customers have faced in the past is the ability to develop a true return-on-investment (ROI) and energy savings analysis that helps prioritize improvements to be made. The energy auditor may not have had this skill set or the tools and information needed to generate this type of a report. Every EnergyARM energy audit results in a comprehensive Home Energy Rating and Improvement Analysis Report. The Improvement Analysis Report utilizes current, local pricing available from EnergyARM networked trade contractors to create a true reflection of the actual cost of improvement.
Home Energy Raters are trained and certified to calculate residential energy savings. Their work has been sanctioned and relied upon by the national mortgage industry since 1981 as a method of capitalizing energy efficiency in mortgages. HERS Ratings are also recognized by the financial industry for certification of “white tags”, by several states as code compliance and by the Federal government for verification of building energy performance for several federal programs. Utilizing this nationally recognized and uniform method of calculation and certification provides assurance that expected quantifiable energy savings result from the work performed. With the actual costs and quantifiable savings in hand, the calculated ROI is accurate and reliable.

The HERS Index ranks your home with its energy efficiency rating
The HERS Rating included with your audit provides you with an “Energy Performance Label” for your home. This provides your home’s HERS Index Number and can be used to show prospective buyers how your newly efficient home performs compared to other existing homes. The fact that you receive a HERS Rating also makes you potentially eligible for an Energy Improvement Mortgage (EIM) or an Energy Efficient Mortgage (EIM) opening up more funding avenues for you.
By utilizing only certified energy professionals who have invested the time, study and hard work required to have their knowledge and competency recognized by national certification programs, and by requiring they carry full general and professional liability insurance, EnergyARM takes the guesswork out of locating a truly knowledgeable and competent energy professional for your energy retrofit project.
